Winter weather disrupts holiday travel in US
Snow and freezing conditions prompt warnings, causing over 4,200 flight cancellations

Snowfall and freezing conditions in the north central US have been adversely affecting travel during the week between Christmas and New Year’s.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued winter weather warnings for five states, particularly Nebraska and Colorado.
Highlighting the risks of heavy snowfall and freezing conditions in these areas, it advised citizens not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
The Nebraska State Police reported that they have responded to more than 100 weather-related accidents since Christmas Day on Dec. 25.
Meteorological authorities have warned of heavy rain expected tonight and tomorrow in the northeast of the country, with the possibility of flash floods in some areas of Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York.
The FlightAware website, monitoring flights across the country, shared information that approximately 4,200 flights have been canceled or delayed due to adverse weather conditions nationwide since the previous day.
