NEW YORK (AA) - The Turkish Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGIDER) and Sanofi Türkiye held an event in New York focused on women's role in economic life, particularly efforts to empower young women in the business world.
The event was held under the framework of the 69th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) and saw participation from numerous international attendees.
The program, with Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas as the honorary guest, highlighted efforts to support young female entrepreneurs and strengthen women's economic standing.
KAGIDER President Esra Bezircioglu spoke about the association's initiatives to support female entrepreneurship, economic empowerment and sustainability.
Women who start strong in business not only build their own careers but also inspire and guide other women around them, she said.
Bezircioglu also emphasized the association's “Future Women Leaders” program launched 15 years ago to help young women secure a solid place in business.
Pınar Kaya, Corporate Communications Director of Sanofi Türkiye, discussed gender inequality as a major global and national issue, citing the 2024 Global Gender Gap Report from the World Economic Forum.
She noted, citing the report, that achieving gender equality globally will take another 134 years, adding: “Our journey is long, but the steps we take today will shape the future.”
