VIENNA (AA) - In a 12-part series, "An online journey to Turkish literature," the Yunus Emre Institutes (YEE) of Vienna and Berlin started to present the stages of Turkish literature on Friday starting from the 13th century in Turkish and German.
YEE Vienna Director Ayse Yorulmaz told Anadolu Agency that because of the coronavirus pandemic, the group was unable to hold such events that demonstrate Turkish culture for more than a year.
As with most institutions, “we had to do our work online,” she said.
Yorulmaz noted that YEE began to bring together literary friends on a digital platform -- the first was conducted last month and will last until the end of the year.
"Thirteenth and 14th century classical Turkish literature," especially the change and transformation of Turkish literature to the present day, will be discussed regularly every month in this series, said Yorulmaz, adding that two academics from Turkish universities will also attend as speakers.
She said the presence of limited resources in German related to Turkish literature, especially the presence of a small number of relevant content in auditory and visual media, makes the work even more important.
She added that everyone involved can follow the series on the social media accounts of Vienna and Berlin YEE.
