Zionists' 'aura of invincibility' in US may be broken during November elections: Expert

'Biden and Israelis have lost this new generation that is pro-Palestinian,' says Sami Hamdi, managing director of global risk company

The American public’s growing disdain towards Israel over the war in Gaza means "the aura of invincibility the Zionists have had in the US could be broken for the first time this November” as voters head to the polls to choose the country’s next president, a political analyst said Monday.

Speaking to Anadolu in an interview, Sami Hamdi, the managing director of International Interest, a global risk company, said the International Court of Justice’s “ruling and the move to issue arrest warrants by the ICC (International Criminal Court) are unprecedented. I think that the Israelis are stunned by it."

"I think it shows that Israel has not only lost the public opinion war, but the alliance that it has with a lot of his Western allies has now been compromised as well," Hamdi said.

Noting that the decisions made by international courts may not be immediately enforceable, he said they will eventually be implemented due to the changing public opinion.

Highlighting that the US and Israeli administrations have fallen out of favor with the international community, he said: "I think that (US President Joe) Biden and the Israelis have lost this new generation that is pro-Palestinian."

He emphasized that Zionists in the US have long had significant influence over the country's politics.

Hamdi also said there is a belief emerging that in order to come to power, both the Democrats and the Republicans need to support Zionists.

"The problem for Israel today and the Zionists is that in this November (presidential) election, it may well be that the president loses for no other reason than that he supported Zionism. In other words, the aura of invincibility the Zionists have had in the US could be broken for the first time this November," he said.

Hamdi said he believes that Biden losing the election could potentially "break the current system of America," meaning that "Zionism no longer means success."
