Israeli strikes target border towns in southern Lebanon amid fears of full-blown war with Hezbollah
By Wassim Seif El Din
BEIRUT (AA) – A Lebanese civilian was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Tuesday amid fears of a full-blown war between Tel Aviv and Hezbollah.
The attack targeted the border town of al-Bustan, the state-run National News Agency reported.
Another Israeli strike hit Taybeh town near the Lebanese-Israeli border, causing a fire and power outage in the area.
No reports were available about injuries.
Tensions have soared along Lebanon's border with Israel amid cross-border attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces as Tel Aviv presses ahead with its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip, which has killed over 37,900 people since Oct. 7 last year.
The Lebanese group has linked the cessation of its attacks on Israel to the end of Tel Aviv’s onslaught on Gaza.
