10-man Manchester United secure 1 point in Europa League with late goal against Porto

English defender Harry Maguire's 91st-minute goal earns 1 point for Red Devils

ANKARA (AA) – A 10-man Manchester United secured one point in the UEFA Europa League with a late goal against Porto as the match ended 3-3 on Thursday.

Manchester United's English winger Marcus Rashford netted the first goal in the seventh minute at Estadio do Dragao in Portugal.

Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund made it 2-0 in the 20th minute, but then Porto's Brazilian forward Pepe responded in kind in the 27th minute.

Porto's Spanish forward Samu Omorodion took the stage and netted twice in the 34th and 50th minutes to bring the lead to the hosts.

United's Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes was shown a red card in the 81st minute and the Red Devils were down to 10 players.

English defender Harry Maguire's 91st-minute goal made it 3-3 and secured one point for the Red Devils.

Manchester United are in 21st spot with two points, while Porto are 24th in the standings after their first point in the competition.

Turkish clubs Fenerbahce and Besiktas both failed to win as Fenerbahce drew 1-1 with the Dutch team Twente, while Besiktas lost to German side Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Dutch midfielder Michel Vlap brought the lead to the hosts in the 29th minute at FC Twente Stadion.

Fenerbahce's veteran Serbian attacker Dusan Tadic equalized in the 71st minute.

In the other Europa League clash of the night, Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Besiktas 3-1 at Besiktas Stadium.

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush tallied the first goal in the 19th minute from a penalty kick, then French midfielder Junior Dina Ebimbe made it 2-0 for the visitors in the 22nd minute.

Besiktas attacker Ciro Immobile missed the chance to score from a penalty kick in the 27th minute.

After German midfielder Ansgar Knauff scored the third goal for the Frankfurt side, Besiktas' French defender Arthur Masuaku netted the only goal of the hosts in the 93rd minute.

Eintracht Frankfurt are in seventh spot with 4 points and a point difference, while Fenerbahce are in 13th spot with 4 points, Twente are in 23rd spot with 2 points and Besiktas are in 36th and last spot without any points.
