100th anniversary of Turkish Republic celebrated in Geneva
'We are experiencing the justified pride, happiness and excitement of reaching the 100th anniversary of our Republic,' says Turkish consul general

GENEVA (AA) - The 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye was celebrated in Geneva with a reception on Monday.
The reception was organized by Guven Begec, the permanent representative of Türkiye to the UN Office in Geneva, Turkish Consul General in Geneva Ipek Zeytinoglu Ozkan and Permanent Representative of Türkiye to the World Trade Organization Alparslan Acarsoy.
It was held at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
In her speech, which came after the Turkish national anthem, Ozkan said: "Today, we are experiencing the justified pride, happiness and excitement of reaching the 100th anniversary of our Republic."
"As we enter the Turkish Century, we should not be complacent, and each of us should continue to work with all our strength to carry our Republic even further,” she added.
A video message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was played after the consul general's speech.
Representatives of foreign missions and international organizations also attended the reception.
During the event, guests were served delicacies from Turkish cuisine.
