Young starlet completes comeback to become youngest Roland-Garros semi-finalist in 27 years

Mirra Andreeva, a 17-year-old unseeded Russian, defeated world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the women's singles quarterfinals of the French Open on Wednesday.
The young starlet has completed her comeback with sets of 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-4 to become the youngest Roland-Garros semi-finalist in 27 years.
"I forgot the score at the end. I just tried to stay focused. In my second match point, I imagined I was trying to save break point. I tried to play brave and I managed to win," said Andreeva.

Italian Jasmine Paolini also eliminated world No. 4 Elena Rybakina in the women's singles quarterfinals on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old managed to finish the clash on top against the 2022 Wimbledon champion with sets of 6-2, 4-6 and 6-4.
Paolini, who reached her maiden major semifinal with the result, will take on Andreeva.

World No. 4 Alexander Zverev cast Alex De Minaur aside to reach the men's singles semifinals at Roland Garros on Wednesday.
Zverev won with sets of 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4 in the quarterfinal clash against the Australian.
The German player, who reached his fourth successive French Open semifinal, will face Norwegian no. 7 seed Casper Ruud in the coming semifinal round.
