2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup excitement to begin on Friday
Event to be co-hosted by Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, with 32 teams competing

The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup excitement will begin on Friday.
The Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia will all serve as co-hosts for the competition, which will feature 32 teams.
It will be the first FIBA World Cup to be hosted in Indonesia.
In the event, in which Türkiye will not participate due to elimination in Round 2 of European Qualification, 16 teams from the first stage that finished in the top two spots in their groups will advance to the second round.
The top two teams in the second round will advance to the quarterfinals.
The final match will take place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, the Philippines’ capital, on September 10.
Two teams from Europe and America with the best rankings will be granted Olympic visas, while one team from each of Africa, Asia, and Oceania will be entitled to participate in the Olympics.
