AC Milan move to top of Serie A after narrow away win

With 55 points, AC Milan have 1 point lead over 2nd-place city rivals Inter Milan

ISTANBUL (AA) - AC Milan beat Sampdoria with a narrow 1-0 win to climb to the top of Serie A.

Portuguese striker Rafael Leao gave the Rossoneri a home victory after an amazing assist by Mike Maignan.

Inter Milan were held to a 1-1 draw against Napoli as Lorenzo Insigne converted a penalty goal for Napoli and Edin Dzeko produced a goal for Inter.

AC Milan are at the top of the Italian league standings with 55 points, followed by Inter Milan, who have a game in hand with 54 points, and Napoli with 53 points.


- Premier League

Manchester City hammered Norwich City 4-0 as Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick. The Sky Blues increased their points to 63 in the English league.

Liverpool gained a 1-0 away victory to record a fourth consecutive Premier League win as they have 54 points with a game in hand.

Chelsea are in third place with 47 points.


- La Liga

Real Madrid were held to a goalless draw against Villarreal at the La Ceramica stadium.

Sevilla beat Elche 2-0 to cut the lead to four points while Real Betis defeated Levante 4-2 to reach 43 points in the Spanish league standings.

Atletico Madrid had a 4-3 victory over Getafe as Turkish international Enes Unal netted two goals for the losing side.

Barcelona drew with Espanyol 2-2 at Estadi Cornella-El Prat.

Real Madrid remained at the top of the standings with 54 points.


- Bundesliga

Bayern Munich suffered a surprise defeat to Bochum as first-half goals helped Bochum beat the Bavarians.

Borussia Dortmund claimed a 3-0 victory over Union Berlin, while Bayer Leverkusen beat Stuttgart 4-2.

Reigning German champions Bayern Munich are atop of the standings with 52 points as Borussia Dortmund sit second with 46 points.

Third-place Bayer Leverkusen collected 41 points.


- Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain beat Rennes with a stoppage time goal from Kylian Mbappe at Parc des Princes.

Olympique Marseille claimed a 2-1 away win over Metz, while Olympique Lyon defeated Nice 2-0.

Paris Saint-Germain are at the top of the French league with 59 points, followed by Olympique Marseille with 46 points, and Nice with 42 points.
