Aiming for historic treble this season, Man City gear up for 2 finals in June

Sky Blues look to make history with Champions League, FA Cup finals next month

ISTANBUL (AA) - Manchester City has already claimed the title of English Premier League for the third straight time, solidifying their dominance in the competition.

The Sky Blues won their ninth Premier League title after Arsenal's narrow defeat at Nottingham Forrest. They beat Chelsea with the same score at Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City will face their archrivals Manchester United to win their seventh FA Cup on June 3 and will play in the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on June 10.

Manchester United grabbed a narrow win over Bournemouth, and Liverpool's seven-match winning run came to an end at the hands of Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw.

Newcastle United will host Leicester City, who are on the verge of getting relegated from the Premier League, at St. James' Park.

Manchester City tops the Premier League with 88 points, seven points ahead of Arsenal, with Newcastle United third with 69 points.


- Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund beat Augsburg 3-0 to jump to the top of the Bundesliga with 70 points. Bayern Munich lost to Leipzig 3-1 at home.

Union Berlin snagged a 4-2 win over Hoffenheim on the road.

Bayern Munich are second with 68 points while Leipzig are third with 63.

Paris Saint-Germain edged closer to clinching an 11th Ligue 1 crown after defeating Auxerre 2-1 with the help of Kylian Mbappe.

The Parisians upped their points to 83 in 36 matches. Second-place Lens collected 78 points and third-place Olympique Marseille so far have 73 points.

Lens claimed a 3-1 away win over Lorient, while Olympique Marseille suffered a 2-1 loss to Lille.


- La Liga

Barcelona and Real Madrid both lost their week 36 matches. Barca lost to Real Sociedad 2-1 and Los Blancos were beaten by Valencia 1-0 in an away match.

Atletico Madrid had a comfortable 3-0 win over Osasuna to boost their points to 72.

Champion Barcelona have 85 points and third-place Real Madrid have 71.

Napoli, who already won the Serie A title, upset Inter Milan with a 3-1 score at Diego Armando Maradona stadium.

With this loss, Inter Milan's five-game winning streak came to an end on matchday 36.

Lazio beat Udinese 1-0, and AC Milan claimed a huge 5-1 win over Sampdoria

Juventus will play Empoli on Monday

Napoli have 86 points and Juventus are second with 69. Lazio are third with 68 points.
