Ajax-Feyenoord game suspended after fans throw flares onto pitch

ISTANBUL (AA) - A Dutch top-tier football match between Ajax and Feyenoord has officially been suspended after fans threw flares onto the pitch.

Playing at the Johan Cruyff Arena, the referee decided to stop the Eredivisie sixth-week match after angry fans threw flares onto the pitch, with the visitors Feyenoord leading the game 3-0 in the 55th minute.

Ajax, who have had a bad start to the season with just one win, are 13th with five points while Feyenoord are fourth with 11 points in the standings on matchday six.
