De Souza gets 55.9%, Hagi receives 44.1% of votes as over 600,000 people cast their votes

ANKARA (AA) - Football fans believe Fenerbahce's former captain Alex de Souza is a “better player” than Galatasaray's legendary player Gheorghe Hagi, a FIFA poll suggested.
The world football’s governing body asked followers on Twitter whether Alex or Hagi was a better player.
Alex led the poll with 55.9%, while Hagi received 44.1% of the vote as over 600,000 people cast their votes.
Considered one of the most important players in the history of Galatasaray, Gheorghe Hagi of Romania lifted four league titles with the Istanbul club in 1996-2000.
The 56-year-old former player also helped the Lions win UEFA Cup and Super Cup in 2000.
Having become a legendary player in Turkey with his sensational performance for Fenerbahce, Brazil’s Alex, 43, scored 171 goals and made 146 assists in 344 matches during his nine-season spell with the Istanbul club.
He won three league titles with Fenerbahce from 2004 to 2012.
