ANKARA (AA) - Alexander Zverev withdrew from the 2022 US Open, the organization announced on Monday.
The men's world no. 2 in tennis had retired from the Grand Slam due to an ankle injury, it said on its official website.

Following the incident, the 25-year-old underwent surgery for three torn lateral ligaments.
Zverev also bagged a gold medal for Germany in the men's singles tennis at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The US Open, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments in tennis, will be held between Aug. 29 and Sep. 11.
