24-year-old Spanish midfielder to sign 5-year contract with Atletico Madrid

ISTANBUL (AA) - Atletico Madrid agreed on a transfer deal for Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente on Thursday.

"Real Madrid C.F and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement over the transfer of Marcos Llorente," Real Madrid said in a statement on Thursday.

"The club wishes to express its gratitude for the commitment and professionalism shown by the player over the years and for the exemplary conduct he displayed since he joined our academy in 2008 through until his time as a member of the first-team squad," Real Madrid said.

The 24-year-old Spanish midfielder is signing a five-year contract, Atletico Madrid said.

He played 36 matches and scored two goals in two seasons in Real Madrid.
