Bayern Munich's Sacha Boey suffers new injury setback

French full back ruled out due to 'ankle ligament injury in training,' according to German club

ISTANBUL (AA) - Bayern Munich said Tuesday that full back Sacha Boey had suffered an ankle ligament injury and will be sidelined.

"FC Bayern will be without Sacha Boey for the time being after the defender suffered an ankle ligament injury in training," Bayern Munich said in a brief statement.

Boey has provided two assists in 10 appearances for the German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old, who returned to action just late last month after tearing the meniscus in his left knee in September, has also played for Dijon and Rennes. He joined the German club from Türkiye's Galatasaray in January for €30 million (around $32.5 million).

The French player is under contract with Bayern Munich until 2028.

Bayern Munich are top of the Bundesliga standings with 33 points.
