Borussia Dortmund confirms Nuri Sahin as new head coach
35-year-old Turkish manager lead to The Black and Yellow through June 2027, replacing Edin Terzic

ISTANBUL (AA) – Borussia Dortmund announced on Friday that Nuri Sahin succeeded Edin Terzic as head coach of the German football club on a three-year contract.
"It is a great honour for me to be head coach of Borussia Dortmund. I would like to thank everyone on the club’s senior management team for the faith they have shown in me, and I am hugely looking forward to my new role at BVB," Sahin said after the signing ceremony.
"From day one we will do everything we can and work with energy and passion to make this club as successful as possible," the Turkish manager added.
Sahin, a former Dortmund midfielder, played 274 competitive games for The Black and Yellow, scoring 26 goals.
During his playing career, the 35-year-old won the Bundesliga in 2011 and the DFB Cup in 2017.
From 2021 to 2023, he managed Turkish Super Lig club Antalyaspor, and in Jan. 2024, he returned to Borussia Dortmund as an assistant coach.
He also lifted the 2012 Spanish La Liga title with Real Madrid.
