ANKARA (AA) - Besiktas signed Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic on loan from Barcelona early Friday, the Turkish football club said.
In a statement, Besiktas said the Black Eagles agreed with Pjanic and the Spanish giants to finalize the 31-year-old star's temporary transfer.
Besiktas added that the Istanbul club will pay a €2.75 million (over $3.2 million) net salary for the player in the 2021-2022 season.
The Black Eagles welcomed Pjanic and wished him success.
Before Barcelona, Pjanic played for French club Olympique Lyon, Italy's Roma and Juventus.
He spent four trophy-laden seasons at Juventus.
He helped Juventus win the Italian Cup twice, and last season, with Pjanic on the squad, Barcelona captured the Spanish Cup.
Pjanic joined Barcelona in 2020, and his deal with the Spanish club will expire in 2024.
During his career, he has scored 73 goals and had 108 assists in 552 club appearances.
He also played for the Bosnian national team and racked up 101 international caps with 15 goals.
