Canada to host 9th round of Formula 1 World Championship
Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix to be run on 70 laps on 4.361-kilometer track

ANKARA (AA) - The ninth round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship will be held in Canada on Sunday.
The qualifying laps will be on Saturday and the race on Sunday at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The Canadian Grand Prix will be run on 70 laps on a 4.361-kilometer (2,710-mile) track.
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve hosted its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1978. The lap record of the track was made by Valtteri Bottas with 1:13.078 in 2019.
So far, Max Verstappen from Red Bull has five race wins, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari has two and Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has one win in the current season.
Verstappen leads the driver standings with 150 points, while his teammate Perez follows him with 129 points and Ferrari driver Leclerc placed third with 116 points.
In the constructor standings, Red Bull Racing is at the top with 279 points, while Ferrari is second with 199 points and Mercedes is in third spot with 161 points.
