ISTANBUL (AA) - Italian football coach Carlo Ancelotti is on track to becoming the first-ever manager to clinch a title in all five big leagues.

Regarded as one of the most successful football managers in history, Ancelotti took his first job at Italy's Reggiana at the age of 36 in 1995, where he led the team to its promotion to Serie A.

The 62-year-old has coached 10 clubs, including Parma, Chelsea, AC Milan, PSG, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Ancelotti kicked off this extraordinary tally of European league titles with Milan’s Serie A title in the 2003-04 season.

England followed, and he took Chelsea to victory in the Premier League's 2009-10 campaign. Paris Saint-Germain was next with the French Ligue 1 in 2012-13.

In the 2016-17 season, Ancelotti guided Bayern Munich to a fifth successive Bundesliga title.

In addition to these trophies, the Italian manager also clinched the UEFA Champions League title on three occasions, the FIFA Club World Cup twice and three editions of the UEFA European Super Cup.

If Ancelotti's Real Madrid win La Liga this season, he will become the first manager to win every top-five league title. The Spanish team are only one point away from grabbing the 2022 championship.

Ancelotti was at Real Madrid from July 2013 to May 2015. He ended the team’s 12-year-long wait for 'La Decima' when they defeated Atletico Madrid 4-1 in the 2013-14 final in Lisbon.

Returning to Real Madrid for a second spell as coach last year, he has helped his team win one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, one Spanish Super Cup and one Spanish Cup so far.

On Saturday, Real Madrid need to get at least one point in the week 34 match against Espanyol.

Collecting 78 points, Ancelotti's side are currently 15 points ahead of arch-rivals Barcelona with five match-weeks remaining.

Ancelotti released his autobiography, a candid memoir about his life and career milestones, in 2010.
