Coronavirus cases surpass 8,900 in Sudan
95 cases reported in last 24 hours with 8 more fatalities, bringing total death toll to 556

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) - Novel coronavirus infections have exceeded 8,900 in Sudan, according to country’s Health Ministry on Thursday.
The country reported 95 cases in the last 24 hours, putting the total at 8,984, the ministry said in a statement.
Some eight new fatalities from the virus were recorded, bringing the nationwide death toll to 556.
A total of 3,806 people have recovered from the disease.
Since originating in China last December, the pandemic has claimed more than 484,400 lives in 188 countries and regions.
More than 9.5 million cases have been reported worldwide, while over 4.78 million patients have recovered, according to figures compiled by US-based Johns Hopkins University.
