Crew rescued after 2 oil tankers catch fire off Singapore coast
Maritime and Port Authority dispatched air force, which airlifted 2 crew members to hospital for medical treatment

ISTANBUL (AA) – The maritime authority rescued two crew members from two oil tankers that caught fire off the Singapore coast on Friday.
The city-state's Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) said in a statement that it was alerted at about 6:15 a.m. (2215GMT) to a fire onboard two vessels, a Singapore-flagged tanker, Hafnia Nile, and a Sao Tome and Principe-flagged tanker, Ceres I, about 55 kilometers (about 34.17 miles) northeast of Pedra Branca within Singapore’s Maritime Search and Rescue Region.
Authorities dispatched the air force, which later airlifted two crew members to a hospital for medical treatment.
The statement did not explain how the two oil tankers caught fire.
