Death toll in Istanbul terror attack rises to 45

ISTANBUL (AA) - The death toll in Istanbul terror attacks on Dec. 10 has risen to 45 after a wounded police officer died at a hospital, the governorship said Tuesday.

Istanbul Governor's office stated that the treatment of 41 others who were injured in the attacks is still continuing at various hospitals.

Meanwhile, Istanbul Police Department identified second perpetrator of the attack as Kadri Kilinc, a 27-year-old man from Turkey's southeastern province of Mardin.

He was driving the bomb-laden vehicle during the first attack while a suicide bomber in Macka Park blew himself up few minutes later.

Istanbul anti-terror police said Friday the suicide bomber was Burak Yavuz, a 20-year-old man from Turkey's southeastern province of Sanliurfa.

On Dec. 10 at around 10.30 p.m. (1930GMT), a car bomb went off outside a football stadium in Istanbul's Besiktas district, two hours after the end of a Turkish football league match.

The blasts martyred 45 people, mostly police officers.
