Dybala joins Mourinho's Roma on free transfer
Argentina attacker inks 3-year deal after Juventus exit
By Can Erozden
ANKARA (AA) – Italian side Roma have bolstered their offense by snapping up Argentina forward Paulo Dybala on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old, whose contract with rivals Juventus ran out at the end of June, has signed a three-year deal with Jose Mourinho’s team, the club said in a statement on Wednesday.
The attacker scored 115 goals and produced 48 assists during his seven years with the Bianconeri, winning 12 trophies, including five Italian Serie A titles.
He also has 34 international caps for Argentina.
"I am joining a team that is on the up, a club that continues to put in place strong foundations for the future, and a coach, Jose Mourinho, that it will be a privilege to work with," the statement quoted Dybala as saying.
Roma have had a busy transfer window as they look to build on last season’s UEFA Europa Conference League triumph – their first European title.
Dybala is Mourinho’s fourth signing of the summer after Turkish defender Zeki Celik, ex-Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic and Antwerp goalkeeper Mile Svilar.
