English Premier League match to be played in full after footballer's cardiac arrest

Luton Town vs. Bournemouth match abandoned after Tom Lockyer collapsed on pitch Dec. 16 with score level at 1 - 1

ISTANBUL (AA) - The English Premier League (EPL) confirmed Wednesday that a week 17 match between Bournemouth and Luton Town will be replayed in full after Tom Lockyer suffered a cardiac arrest during the match earlier this month.

"The game will be rescheduled for later in the season, with a date to be confirmed following consultation with relevant parties," EPL said in a statement.

"The decision to abandon the match in the 59th minute was made collectively between the match officials, players, managers from both clubs and the Premier League," it added.

Lockyer collapsed midway thought the Dec. 16 match with the score at 1-1.

The match was quickly postponed as the 29-year-old received medical treatment.
