Euro 2016: Own goal gives Hungary draw against Iceland
Iceland still seeking first win in major football competition
ANKARA (AA) - A late own goal by an Icelandic defender saw Hungary draw and climb to the top of Euro 2016’s Group F on Saturday.
The match in Marseille’s Stade Velodrome saw Hungary dominate after Gylfi Sigurdsson gave Iceland the lead with a first-half penalty. However, the Hungarians failed to break down the Icelandic defense until Birkir Saevarsson turned Nemanja Nikolic's cross into his own net in the 88th minute.
The draw means Iceland, who are in second spot following a first game draw against Portugal, are still looking for their first victory in a major tournament.
