European exchanges close Wednesday lower

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed Wednesday with losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, was down 4.74 points, or 1.05%, at 445.02.

The UK’s FTSE 100 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 87 points, or 1.14%, to close at 7,588.

Germany’s DAX 30 decreased 156 points, or 1.03%, to finish the day at 15,094.

France’s CAC 40 fell 63 points, or 0.91%, to 6,965, while Italy’s FTSE MIB dropped 231 points, or 0.82%, to 28,135.

Spain’s IBEX 35 declined 85 points, or 0.92%, to end mid-week at 9,212.
