European stock exchanges close Monday higher

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stock exchanges closed higher on Monday.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 4.02 points, or 0.89%, to finish at 455.41.

Spain's IBEX 35 was the best performer of the day, soaring 151 points, or 1.62%, to 9,490.

The UK's FTSE 100 added 4.95 points, or 0.07%, to end the session at 7,338. Germany's DAX rose 160 points, or 1.03%, to 15,792.

France's CAC 40, meanwhile, increased 95 points, or 1.32%, to close at 7,324. Italy's FTSE MIB added 336 points, or 1.19%, to end the day at 28,544.
