European stock exchanges close with losses

France's CAC performs worst, diving 1.56%; 3 exchanges lose more than 1.1%

ISTANBUL (AA) - Stock exchanges in Europe closed Tuesday with losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 4.67 points, or 0.9%, to close at 511.76.

The UK's FTSE 100 shed 53 points, or 0.66%, to 8,139. Germany's DAX also trimmed 235 points, or 1.28%, to 18,236.

France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, diving 118 points, or 1.56%, to end the session at 7,508.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, fell 182 points, or 0.53%, to finish the day at 33,864.

Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 123 points, or 1.12%, to close at 10,898.
