European stocks close higher except in UK

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stocks closed higher on Wednesday except in the UK.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, was up 1.26 points, or 0.28%, to finish at 444.07.

Germany's DAX 30 rose 76 points, or 0.51%, to close at 15,229, while Spain's IBEX 35 increased 47 points, or 0.52%, to end the day at 9,283.

France's CAC 40 was the best performer of the day, adding 47 points, or 0.69%, to finish the session at 7,034.

Italy's FTSE MIB increased 37 points, or 0.13%, to end at 28,433.

The UK's FTSE 100, on the other hand, shed eight points, or 0.11%, to close at 7,401.
