F1 driver Carlos Sainz extends contract with Ferrari

Spanish driver signs with Italian team until end of 2024

ANKARA (AA) - Scuderia Ferrari on Thursday announced that the Spanish Formula One driver Carlos Sainz has extended his contract with the team until 2024.

"I am very happy to have renewed my contract with Scuderia Ferrari," the 27-year-old said on the team’s official website.

"I have always said that there is no better Formula 1 team to race for and after over a year with them, I can confirm that putting on this race suit and representing this team is unique and incomparable."

Before joining Ferrari in 2021, the Spaniard previously raced for other Formula 1 teams, including Toro Rosso, Renault, and McLaren.

Sainz finished second behind Charles Leclerc in the 2022 Formula One season opening Bahrain Grand Prix and took his maiden Formula 1 podium in March.
