Turkish football body postponed fixtures Feb. 7 after deadly quakes hit southern Türkiye

ANKARA (AA) - Fenerbahce thrashed 10-man Arabam.com Konyaspor 4-0 in a postponed match as the Turkish top-tier Spor Toto Super Lig resumed after the Feb. 6 earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye.

Ecuadoran forward Enner Valencia scored twice at Istanbul's Ulker Stadium, including the opener from the penalty spot in the first half.

Konyaspor forward Mame Diouf was sent off after fouling Willian Arao. Diouf was previously booked for arguing with the referee.

Lincoln Henrique's volley bounced off teammate Joshua King as Fenerbahce made it 3-0 in the 61st minute.

Hungarian defender Attila Szalai's lob header in the 78th minute ended the scoring and an easy win.

The Turkish football body postponed fixtures Feb. 7 after major quakes hit struck the country.

The 7.7- and 7.6-magnitude quakes were centered in Kahramanmaras and struck 10 other provinces - Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Hatay, Gaziantep, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Sanliurfa.

More than 13 million people have been affected while the death toll stands at more than 44,215.

Before the match at Ulker Stadium, a minute of silence was observed to honor the victims and after the final whistle Fenerbahce players held a banner that said: Türkiye will heal its wounds together.

Second-place Fenerbahce have 48 points in 22 matches in the Turkish league which is led by archrivals Galatasaray, who have 54 points.
