Feyenoord equal biggest Europa League win by beating Shakhtar Donetsk 7-1

ANKARA (AA) - Dutch club Feyenoord equaled the biggest UEFA Europa League win record by beating Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk 7-1 in a Round of 16 second leg match Thursday.

Olympique Lyon beat AZ Alkmaar with the same score in 2017.

Two Feyenoord players scored twice each in the game; Turkish midfielder Orkun Kokcu in the 24th and 38th minutes and Dutch forward Oussama Idrissi in the 49th and 60th minutes.

Santiago Gimenez, Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Danilo Pereira were the other players who netted for the hosts, in the 9th, 64th and 67th minutes respectively.

Shakhtar's only goal came from Venezuelan forward Kevin Kelsy in the 87th minute.

Feyenoord reached the quarterfinals in the Europa League with the result.
