Football: Young Turkish midfielder to join Roma

Cengiz Under, 20, has arrived in Rome

ANKARA (AA) - Cengiz Under, 20-year-old midfielder fromTurkish Super Lig runners-up Medipol Basaksehir, has arrived in the Italian capital late Friday to join the football club Roma.

The left-footed midfielder landed at Fiumicino Airport, said Roma on their website. He is to undergo medical checks on Saturday.

Turkish international Cengiz Under was welcomed by Italian press members and Roma supporters at the airport.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency after landing in Rome, Cengiz said: "I am very happy to be here. A new adventure is about to begin for me. I hope it goes much better. Forza Roma."

Medipol Basaksehir signed him in July 2016. He scored seven goals and had five assists in 32 Super Lig appearances.
