ANKARA (AA) - Jumbo-Visma team's French cyclist Christophe Laporte won Stage 19 of the 2022 Tour de France, as the competition nears its final stretch this weekend.
Laporte, 29, completed the 188.3-kilometer (117-mile) stage between France's Castelnau-Magnoac and Cahors in 3 hours, 52 minutes and 4 seconds to be Friday's victor.
Alpecin-Deceuninck's Belgian cyclist Jasper Philipsen was second, and Team DSM's Italian rider Alberto Dainese came third.
But Laporte's Jumbo-Visma teammate Jonas Vingegaard from Denmark kept the yellow jersey as the 25-year-old is leading the tour's general ranking.
Vingegaard had 75 hours, 45 minutes and 39 seconds in this year's Tour de France. His lead ahead of second-place Tadej Pogacar is three minutes and 26 seconds in the runup to Saturday's Stage 20.
The upcoming stage, which will be an individual time-trial, will be held between Lacapelle-Marival and Rocamadour.
The track's length will be 40.7 kilometers (25.2 miles).
On Sunday, the cyclists will pedal in Paris, as the 2022 Tour de France will end on the iconic Avenue des Champs-Elysées.
