Francesco Farioli leaves Ajax after ‘careful consideration’
36-year-old says he and Ajax share goals but differ on vision, timeline

ISTANBUL (AA) – Francesco Farioli on Monday mutually agreed to part ways with Dutch club Ajax after what he described as “careful consideration.”
“The management and I have the same goals for the future of Ajax, but we have different visions and timeframes about the way we should work and operate to achieve those goals,” Farioli said in a statement. “Given these differences in the principles and foundations of the project, I feel deep in my heart that this is the best moment to part ways.”
Assistant coaches Daniele Cavalletto, Felipe Sanchez Mateos, and goalkeeping coach Jarkko Tuomisto will also depart the club.
The 36-year-old Italian previously coached Fatih Karagumruk and Alanyaspor in Türkiye. He took charge of Ajax at the beginning of the season after a stint with French side Nice.
Ajax entered the final five weeks of the Dutch top tier with a nine-point lead over PSV, but their title hopes faded after dropping points in four consecutive matches.
