Galatasaray, Akhisarspor to vie for Turkish Super Cup

Turkish football giants Galatasaray to meet Akhisarspor on Wednesday in capital Ankara

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish top-tier football league champs Galatasaray will face Akhisarspor to bag Turkish Super Cup on Wednesday.

The match in the capital Ankara will kick off at 1930GMT.

After gaining victory in Turkish Super Lig and claiming the Turkish Cup last season, Galatasaray will play against the Turkish Cup finalist Akhisarspor for the Turkish Super Cup.

The two teams also met for the Turkish Super Cup last year and Akhisar won the cup after beating Galatasaray 5-4 in penalties.

Galatasaray won the cup five times and Fenerbahce are three times winner while Besiktas, Trabzonspor, Konyaspor and Akhisar each captured the cup once.
