Galatasaray players, fans enjoy Super Lig championship ceremony after derby victory

ANKARA (AA) - Galatasaray players and fans took part in a ceremony on Sunday celebrating the team’s 2022-23 Turkish Super Lig championship and derby victory.

In the Istanbul derby, Galatasaray beat a 10-man Fenerbahce 3-0 at home in Nef Stadium.

After the final whistle, the Lions celebrated their 23rd championship with music playing from the stadium’s speakers.

The players and staff then toured the stands to share the joy of the title victory with their fans.

"From the beginning to the end, the match went as we wanted. Today and throughout the year, the better side on the field won," said head coach Okan Buruk.

Team skipper Fernando Muslera lifted the trophy in the name of his team as he celebrated his sixth league title with the Lions and then passed it to his teammates.

The ceremony ended with a championship celebration concert.
