Galatasaray to meet Hull City in friendly game ahead of Champions League fixtures

Exhibition clash to be played in northwestern Türkiye next month

ISTANBUL (AA) — Turkish football club Galatasaray on Tuesday announced a friendly match against British team Hull City ahead of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying clash.

The Istanbul side and English Championship club will play at Kocaeli Stadium in northwestern Türkiye for the game that will kick off at 1645 GMT on Wednesday, July 5.

Galatasaray were paired with the winner of a clash between Lithuania's Zalgiris Vilnius and Struga of North Macedonia.

The two-legged ties will be played on July 25-26 and Aug. 1-2.

Turkish businessman and media owner Acun Ilicali purchased Hull City last year.

The Acun Medya Group was founded in 2004 and has become a major international production company and broadcasting group.

Meanwhile, the Tigers completed the second tier of the English football table in the 15th spot with 58 points last season.
