German manager Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool at end of season
Reds boss since 2015, Klopp says he is 'running out of energy'

German football manager Jurgen Klopp on Friday announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of this season, he confirmed on Friday.
"I will leave the club at the end of the season. I can understand that that’s a shock for a lot of people in this moment," Klopp, who has been coaching the English club since 2015, told Liverpool in an interview.
"I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything.
"But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take. It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy," the 56-year-old Reds boss said, adding that he has "no problem" with the club.
"I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again."
In 2022, Klopp extended his Liverpool deal until 2026.
"After the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth – and that is the truth. That’s it, pretty much," he added.
In 2015, Klopp left Germany's Borussia Dortmund, where he won two German Bundesliga titles, to take charge of Liverpool.
Under Klopp, Liverpool won every major title such as the UEFA Champions League, and English Premier League title, two significant achievements.
Liverpool won six European Cups / Champions League titles in history, the last in 2019 under the helm of Klopp.
Before him, Spanish manager Rafael Benitez guided Liverpool to the Champions League success in 2005.
Separately, the Reds were crowned the 2020 English champions, their first league title in 30 years. Liverpool secured 19 top-tier domestic league titles in history.
Klopp helped the Reds claim the FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup triumphs as well.
This season, Liverpool have 48 points to lead the Premier League in England, and they won their UEFA Europa League group to qualify for the last 16.
Earlier this week, Liverpool advanced to the Carabao Cup (English League Cup) final, where they will face Chelsea on Feb. 25.
