Haaland named PFA men's Players’ Player of the Year
Norwegian striker tallies 52 goals in all competitions of his 1st season with Manchester City

ANKARA (AA) – Erling Haaland has been named the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) men's Players' Player of the Year.
"It’s an honor to win this prestigious award,” the 23-year-old player said in a statement posted on the Manchester City website following the PFA announcement on Tuesday.
"To be recognized by your competitors is a great feeling and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me," he added.
The Norwegian striker tallied 52 goals in all competitions of his first season with Man City in the English Premier League.
He holds the single-season Premier League goalscoring record in the 2022-23 season, with 36 goals in 35 games.
His teammates John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne were also nominated for the award.
Haaland helped his team clinch the "Famous Treble" – winning a domestic title, domestic cup, and European cup in the same season – as the Citizens bagged the UEFA Champions League, English Premier League title, and, the FA Cup in the 2022-23 season.
