Head coach of Argentina's national football team extends contract

ANKARA (AA) - The Argentine Football Association (AFA) confirmed Monday that national football team head coach Lionel Scaloni has agreed to extend his contract.

Scaloni will stay with the White and Sky Blues until 2026.

AFA President Claudio Tapia met with Scaloni on Monday in Paris to complete the extension deal.

Argentina has enjoyed historic successes with Scaloni at the helm.

The 44-year-old manager's team bagged the 2021 Copa America, then the Lionel Messi-led team clinched the 2022 FIFA World Cup title in December 2022 after 36 years.
