Healthcare workers in Bosnia hold rally to demand higher wages
Health Workers’ Union head announces plans for upcoming strike, indicating that it would be more forceful

SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina (AA) - Hundreds of health personnel held a rally on Tuesday in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, demanding an increase in their salaries.
Carrying signs and banners, healthcare workers congregated outside the government building of Sarajevo Canton (KS) to voice their dissatisfaction regarding their wages.
Senad Sadikovic, the leader of the Health Workers’ Union of KS, emphasized the need for higher wages for health workers. He also announced plans for an upcoming strike, indicating that it would be more forceful.
Elvedin Vatres, the president of the KS Nurses and Health Technicians Union, expressed surprise at the necessity of staging a demonstration.
Vatres expressed hope that the government would listen to their concerns and implement salary increases.
