Israeli army injures 3 Palestinian fishermen off Gaza coast
Injured fishermen were transferred to hospital for treatment
GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - The Israeli navy forces on Thursday injured three Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Gaza.
Zakaria Baker, the head of the fishermen committee at the Union of Agricultural Work Committees in Gaza, said the Israeli forces attacked the fishermen's boat while fishing off Gaza coast and injured three fishermen with rubber-coated bullets.
He added that the three fishermen, Naser Ali Baker, Mohammad Jaber Baker, and Mohammad Fakhri Baker, were transferred to a hospital for treatment.
The Israeli army has yet to comment on the incident.
About 4,000 Palestinians work in the fishing sector in Gaza, according to the Palestinian Agriculture Ministry.
Palestinian fishermen often suffer from multiple Israeli violations, including attempting to sink Palestinian boats in the sea, firing at them, as well as narrowing the fishing area for long periods.
