Italian Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia to see Napoli play Inter Milan in showdown

The 2023 Italian Super Cup (Supercoppa Italiana) final in Saudi Arabia will see Napoli play Inter Milan in a showdown next week.

Inter beat Lazio 3-0 in Friday's semifinal at Riyadh's Al-Awwal Park.

French forward Marcus Thuram scored the opener in the 17th minute.

The Nerazzurri's Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu scored from the penalty spot in the 50th minute to double the lead.

After a quick counterattack, Italian midfielder Davide Frattesi scored a late goal in a one-on-one.

Napoli beat Fiorentina 3-0 in the semis at the same stadium Thursday.

The Napoli vs. Inter final will be played Jan. 22 at the Al-Awwal Park as the teams will be vying for a mid-season trophy.

Inter, who won the Italian Super Cup title seven times, have an opportunity to secure their third consecutive domestic trophy.

Napoli won the Super Cup twice, the last in 2014.

Juventus are the record holders with nine wins.
