ISTANBUL (AA) - Security cabins made by Turkish modular construction firm Karmod are now operational at the Simandou site in southeastern Guinea, the company said on Thursday.
According to Karmod's announcement, the company’s CTP polyester cabins have been deployed as security cabins at the Simandou mining site in the West African country.
Karmod Cabin General Manager Zekai Kucuk said the CTP polyester cabins are referred to as "Cool Cabins" due to their insulated properties, which are particularly beneficial in Africa's hot mining environment.
Kucuk stressed that their structures, which have been repeatedly praised for comfort, are especially preferred in Africa's mining sites.
"Our modular security structures are favored for their long-lasting durability and climate performance in challenging environments. Our cabins have been experienced in numerous mining sites across the continent and continue to be chosen again and again," he stated.
He added: “The security structures have been strategically distributed across the site for use. Some cabins will serve as technical intervention units primarily for security personnel.”
He also said: “Karmod has manufactured and delivered 30 security cabins measuring 150x150 centimeters using the CTP polyester model for the mining area in the Simandou mountains. These security cabins will support operations at the Simandou site, where an estimated 8 billion tons of iron ore reserves are set to be extracted by 2050."
