South Africa orders Taiwan to move its representative office out of capital Pretoria: Report
Last month, China, South Africa elevated their bilateral ties to 'all-round strategic cooperative partnership’

ANKARA (AA) - The South African government has reportedly ordered Taiwan to move its representative office outside the capital Pretoria by the end of October.
Pretoria made the demand to Taipei on Oct. 7, during Taiwan's National Day reception, Taipei-based Taiwan News reported on Thursday.
It added that South Africa had threatened to shut down the office if Taiwan did not comply.
The South African government has been pushing Taiwan to move its office since last year, citing UN Resolution 2758 and the "one-China” principle, the report said.
Anadolu could not independently verify these claims.
“Despite Taiwan resisting and seeking support from G7 nations, the South African government proceeded with the ultimatum,’’ according to Taiwan News.
Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung has asked his ministry to consider "appropriate responses, including requesting South Africa's office in Taipei to relocate."
Last month, China and South Africa upgraded their bilateral relationship to an “all-round strategic cooperative partnership.”
