Konyaspor capture 3 points with late win over Ankaragucu in opening match of Turkish Super Lig's second half

ANKARA (AA) - Ittifak Holding Konyaspor defeated Ankaragucu 1-0 in the first match of Turkish Super Lig's second half on Friday.

Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half at Ankaragucu's Eryaman Stadium.

In the second half, Georgian midifelder Levan Shengelia's stoppage-time goal brought the victory to Konyaspor in a hard-fought Week 18 match.

With this victory, Konyaspor gained their first win in the league since Oct. 5.

Konyaspor grabbed critical three points to stay clear of the relegation zone while they increased their points to 18 to be in 14th spot.

They are currently four points ahead of the relegation zone.

Ankaragucu are in the 17th spot with 12 points.
