Manchester United confirm Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's exit

ANKARA (AA) - English Premier League team Manchester United announced on Thursday they had terminated Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic's contract with the club.
Manchester United confirmed on its website that the 36-year-old striker was no longer part of the club.
"Manchester United confirms that it has agreed to the termination of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract with immediate effect. Everyone at the club would like to thank Zlatan for his contribution to the team since his arrival and wishes him well for the future," it said.
Meanwhile Ibrahimovic thanked the Manchester United community including his teammates, the staff and fans for their support.
"Great things also come to an end and it is time to move on after two fantastic seasons with Manchester United. Thank you to the club, the fans, the team, the coach, the staff and everybody who shared with me this part of my history," Ibrahimovic tweeted.
In July 2016, Ibrahimovic made his way to Manchester United after playing for French giants Paris Saint-Germain, where he scored 156 goals in 180 matches.
During his spell at Manchester United, Ibrahimovic scored 29 goals in 53 matches.
Ibrahimovic helped Manchester United win Europe's second-tier international club competition, UEFA Europa League title in 2017.
Manchester United won the Europa League trophy after beating Ajax Amsterdam 2-0 in Stockholm Friends Arena on May 24, 2017.
