Medvedev, Sabalenka into 4th round at Australian Open
Russia's Medvedev beats van de Zandschulp, while Belarusian Sabalenka eliminates Vondrousova in 3rd round

ANKARA (AA) – Men's second seed in tennis Daniil Medvedev and women's world no. 2 Aryna Sabalenka on Saturday qualified for the 2022 Australian Open's fourth round.
Russia’s Medvedev, the 2021 Australian Open finalist, eliminated his Dutch opponent Botic van de Zandschulp, winning straight sets of 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in a third round match at Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne.
In another round three match at Rod Laver Arena, Greek fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas struggled to defeat France's Benoit Paire.
Tsitsipas won the match 6-3, 7-5, 6-7 (2-7), 6-4 to march to the next round in men's singles.
Meanwhile in women's, Sabalenka of Belarus beat Czech Republic's Marketa Vondrousova to reach the last 16 in Melbourne.
Sabalenka lost the first set 6-4 at Margaret Court Arena.
However she completed a comeback against Vondrousova, winning the second and third sets 6-3, 6-1.
Romania’s Simona Halep, the 2018 finalist, eased past her Montenegrin opponent Danka Kovinic, winning straight sets of 6-2, 6-1 at John Cain Arena to bag the fourth round ticket.
